Le Vent du Nord at Mission Folk Festival

Le Vent du Nord took part in La Grande Veillée on the main stage last Friday, July 23 at the 23rd annual Mission Folk Festival (BC, Canada) with Les Mononcles, Les Charbonniers de L’Enfer, Galant tu perds ton temps, Réveillons, David Francey, and The Paperboys. The crowds were large and enthusiastic, and the performance earned rave reviews from fans and critics alike.

On the April 2010 FolkDJ-L List, Le Vent du Nord is number 2 on the Top Canadian Artists and La Part du Feu is number 10 on the Top Canadian Albums. The FolkDJ-L List is a compilation of FM, AM, and satellite airplay charts submitted from around the world
Band’s touring schedule disturbations

In the last week, the quartet has performed “La Part du Feu” in four European cities (Kiel and Bad Honnef in Germany; Leopoldsburg and Heist-op-den Berg in Flanders, Belgium). The group’s reputation had preceded it in these territories, and audiences have displayed an unexpectedly high level of enthusiasm. However, the large ash cloud produced by the Icelandic volcano Eyjafjallajokull has disturbed European air traffic AND the band’s touring schedule. In fact, the band is still stuck in Belgium! Under the circumstances, Le Vent reluctantly has to postpone the concert schedule at the Rogue Folk Club in Vancouver this wednesday (April 21). New date for this concert will be announced soon on this website.
